Event Brief

This course will provide an introduction to guidance and control theory of unmanned vehicles.
The class will address a wide range of guidance problems and achieve the following learning objectives:

  • Basic concepts of guidance theory developed by the author
  • How to use the theoretical results to develop a wide class of guidance algorithms for different classes of unmanned autonomous guided systems
  • How to apply guidance laws to various practical problems (simple scripted navigation functions (waypoints guidance), refueling an aircraft, guidance of several vehicles, etc.)
  • The importance of commonality in unmanned systems (the discussed algorithms are applicable to various unmanned systems (aerial, ground, etc.) and for various guidance problems including avoidance of obstacles
